Features & Benefits:
Modules
Whilst there are numerous names associated to this module depending upon the type of industry using it (assembly, recipe, master batch, mix, formulation etc) the purpose in each case is the same.
This module allows you to associate all the parts and materials (as well as their quantities) that go into making a finished (or sub-assembly) item. If used in conjunction with our purchase order processing and MRP module, the total demand per component item will be calculated by the system allowing purchase orders to be raised automatically by 1) works order/ job or, 2) globally covering all sales order & works order requirements companywide. When used in conjunction with our Production Control module, the correct quantity of components will be automatically associated with each works order which the user can either view or print out with the works order. This will also form the kitting (component) facilitating the correct issuing out of component parts from stock and to the works order / job. As this module allows multiple unlimited component parts per level and multiple unlimited levels per part, whether you
manufacture single piece parts or complex multi level / tier assemblies containing thousands of items you can be sure your BOM structure will be catered for comprehensively.
One of the key strengths to our BOM module is its ease of use and ability for users to navigate up and down the different levels /tiers effortlessly as well as the ability to quickly search and link existing parts and materials from the database to the BOM. If you wish to create a brand new component part or raw material to link to a BOM that doesn’t already exist within the database, this can be created ‘on the fly’ without having to come out of the BOM and thus not interrupting your work flow. Additionally, BOM’s can be imported from external sources saving you time when setting the system up initially. For companies that assembly and manufacture generic items whose BOM’s may vary only slightly from item to item or across a range, any existing BOM can be imported allowing the user to simply add, amend or delete any items as necessary thus speeding up the whole process of BOM creation. ![]() ![]()
